MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the HRT broadcaster, the majority of the fence's parts were delivered and stored in the Slovenian city of Novo Mesto, close to the Croatian border.
On Tuesday, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar announced his government's decision to build "temporary technical barriers" on the border with Croatia over the next few days to tackle illegal migration.
Slovenian authorities have not announced the exact location or duration of the construction yet.
The flow of refugees entering Slovenia dramatically increased in October, when Hungary closed its southern border with Croatia to undocumented migrants.
Amid the major migrant crisis in Europe, Hungary is used by tens of thousands of migrants as a gateway to wealthy EU member states. Budapest has built fences along the country’s Croatian, Romanian and Slovenian, as well as Serbian borders.
