"We strongly protest Prague’s unfriendly actions and will not leave them without an appropriate response," the Russian ministry said, adding that it is "outraged" with the refusal to extend the Russian correspondent's press credentials.
The ministry said the incident "is not the first such case against Russian journalists." Poland, Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia have each denied Rossiya Segodnya journalists press credentials or entry to their territory since early 2014.
Moscow has termed these refusals discriminatory and politically motivated, and the ministry said it regarded Prague’s latest steps as "unfriendly" and damaging to the countries' bilateral relations.
It decried the Czech Republic’s departure from international norms and principles to protect the rights of journalists, as well as the general principles of a democratic society.
