Moscow and Ankara have a good potential of boosting their relations.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia and Turkey still have not realized the full potential of their economic cooperation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with Russian and Turkish media ahead of the the upcoming G20 summit in Turkey's Antalya.

"Turkey is our major partner in foreign economic collaboration… But generally, the potential for our trade and economic interaction is far from being fully unlocked."

Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeded $31 billion in 2014, the president added. Turkey and Russia are currently cooperating on the implementation of major projects in construction, light industry, metallurgy and agriculture as well is in energy, including nuclear power, and telecommunications.

Another significant area of cooperation is tourism, Putin said. More than 3.3 million Russian holidaymakers visited Turkish resorts in 2014, according to the Russian president.
