MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) is currently developing safety measures for aviation companies and airports to prevent illegal interruption in their activities, Rosaviatsia said in a statement on Tuesday.
"Taking into account the existing risks and threats, coming from extremist organizations, Rosaviatsia…is developing a set of security measures designed to prevent the acts of illegal interference with the activities of airlines and airports," the statement said.
The statement added that the strengthening of the security measures would be temporary, however their implementation would increase the security of passengers and infrastructure.
Earlier in the day, Russian Federal Security Service head Alexander Bortnikov said that the Russian A321 passenger plane crashed over Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula on October 31 killing all 224 on board because of the terrorist attack.
