BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – On November 14, two Belgian citizens later identified as Hamza Attou and Mohamed Amri were detained in connection with the attacks in the French capital.
According to La Libre Belgique, the arrested men stated that the detected ammonium nitrate, which is used to manufacture explosives, was applied as a fertilizer for plants in the garden.
Weapon munitions, in the form of 5.56- and 7.62-mm cartridges, were found in the apartment. The latter are notably used in Kalashnikov automatic rifles, the newspaper said.
Both Amri and Attou are said to have arrived in Belgium from France one day after a series of suicide bombings and shooting attacks in Paris, along with Salah Abdeslam, another assault suspect.
