MANILA (Sputnik) — President of Vietnam Truong Tan Sang has arrived to the Philippines to take part in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Meeting scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
The Philippines' Manila is currently hosting the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Week, bringing together senior officials and members of business to discuss significant issues of multilateral cooperation in the region.
Signing of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) free trade deal has also been expected on the sidelines of the APEC forum, while Vietnam is considered to be one of the TPP's main winners.
The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), established in 1989, promotes free trade throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
The APEC forum includes Russia, the United States, China, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Brunei.
