The WADA Compliance Review Committee said as quoted on the WADA Twitter account that it was "unanimous in its view that RUSADA [Russian Anti-Doping Agency] should be declared non-compliant with immediate effect."
According to WADA, non-compliance with anti-doping regulations means that anti-doping organizations cannot conduct operations until they reinstall the quality of their anti-doping programs.
WADA’s independent investigative commission issued a report last week accusing Russia of violating global anti-doping codes and recommending that the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) suspend Russia from international athletics, including the 2016 Olympic Games.
The IAAF then provisionally suspended the All-Russia Athletic Federation (ARAF) from IAAF membership, while WADA temporarily removed its accreditation of the Moscow-based RUSADA anti-doping laboratory.
RUSADA had stated that it has the right to continue its activities in the event of being declared non-compliant by WADA. The anti-doping laboratory has also expressed willingness to cooperate with WADA on resolving non-compliance issues.
