“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted eight strikes,” the release said. “Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 19 strikes.”
In Syria, the airstrikes on Wednesday eliminated five ISIL tactical units, five buildings, and an oil separation unit. In Iraq, the airstrikes destroyed 12 ISIL tactical units, five vehicles, 23 fighting positions, and two weapons caches.
The US-led coalition of some 60 states has been carrying out airstrikes against ISIL positions in Syria and Iraq since August 2014.
Russia also continues its air campaign against the ISIL in Syria, commenced on September 30 at the request of President Bashar Assad. Russian airstrikes have intensified this week after Moscow’s investigation concluded that terrorists took down Russian A321 passenger plane in Egypt.
