WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US-led coalition against the Islamic State launched 20 airstrikes in Iraq on the terrorist group’s targets, Combined Joint Task Force — Operation Inherent Resolve said in a release on Friday.
“In Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 20 strikes,” the release stated.
Airstrikes in Iraq decimated 11 Islamic State tactical units, four buildings, eight fighting positions, four vehicles and a headquarters building.
Russia continued its air campaign against the Islamic State in Syria, which commenced on September 30 at the request of President Bashar Assad.
Russian airstrikes have intensified this week after Moscow’s investigation concluded that terrorists took down the Russian Metrojet Airbus A321 passenger plane in Egypt.
