MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Ankara believes that Russian natural gas supplies to Turkey are not threatened by the escalating tensions in the bilateral relations following the downing of the Russian Su-24 bomber, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus told Sputnik Turkey on Thursday.
"Neither Russia, nor Turkey will make any steps which would prevent the flow of Russian gas to European markets through Turkey, considering how big and important Russia is as a supplier of natural gas," Kurtulmus said commenting on probable suspension of Russian gas deliveries to Turkey.
He added that the tensions in Turkish-Russian relations could be resolved without the use of economic sanctions.
