MOSCOW, December 13 (Sputnik) — Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered to provide all necessary assistance to the families of those killed and injured in a psychiatric hospital fire in the Russian southwestern Voronezh Region, prime minister press secretary Natalya Timakova said Sunday.
"The prime minister ordered to promptly provide all necessary assistance," Timakova told journalists after Medvedev's phone talks with Russian Labor Minister Maxim Topilin and Voronezh Region Governor Alexei Gordeyev. The minister and the governor reported on measures taken to assist the families of those killed and injured in the incident.
According to the latest information from the Russian Emergencies Ministry's regional center, death toll from the fire has risen to 23.
The cause of the deadly blaze is currently being investigated.
