US Senate Approves $1.1 Trillion Omnibus Spending Package

The US Senate passed the $1.1 trillion federal government spending bill on Friday and will send the bill to the White House for approval.

US House of Representatives Passes $1.1 Trillion Federal Spending Bill
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) The bill, approved earlier on Friday morning by the House of Representatives, will fund all 12 federal government agencies for the next year. Both houses of Congress also approved of a $622 tax bill, including permanent tax cuts for corporations.

The White House is expected to sign the omnibus bill into law with approximately $580 billion in defense spending, and approximately $520 in non-defense spending. The bill includes new cybersecurity legislation as well as a repeal of the four-decade old ban on oil exports.
