MADRID (Sputnik) — Spain’s ruling People’s Party won the Sunday general elections, but failed to gain majority, according to Monday official results.
According to the results, the PP gained 28.72 percent, representing 123 seats. Its traditional rival Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) got 22 percent and 90 seats.
Newcomers Podemos and Ciudadanos came third and fourth, gaining 20 and 13.9 percent, respectively.
At least 176 seats are needed to have parliamentary majority.
