He also recalled that Russia had spotted about 12,000 tanker trucks smuggling oil from territories held by Daesh terrorists in Syria and Iraq to Turkey.

"Here, a question of the political will of the international community arises. We understand that if all these trucks go through Turkey, it is simply obliged to close the border. But Ankara refuses to do so under far-fetched pretexts," Khashchenko said.

In this context, he called for "dealing with Turkey's actions" in light of a recently adopted resolution to cut off the channels of financing terrorism.
He also lashed out at the West over its reluctance to take any concrete steps against Turkey.
According to him, in an attempt to evade Russian aircraft, the terrorists have disguised tankers as ordinary trucks and usually move their cargo at nighttime.
The Russian Armed Forces have revealed a new Daesh oil smuggling route: first the trucks take the shortest route to Iraq and from there head to Turkey. By attempting to evade Russian airstrikes, "terrorists are changing their tactics and paving new oil smuggling routes," Rudskoy said.
