The international community should show more drive to put pressure on Turkey in order to do away with Daesh oil smuggling, according to Russian political analyst Anton Khashchenko.

A report compiled by an independent Norwegian oil and gas consulting firm verified earlier claims that Daesh, also known as ISIL/ISIS, smuggles most of its oil to Turkey, where it is then sold on the black market at reduced prices. - Sputnik International
Inconvenient Truth: Leaked Report Proves Daesh Smuggling Oil to Turkey
In an interview with Sputnik, Russian political analyst Anton Khashchenko urged the international community to show more determination to exert pressure on Turkey so as to put an end to Daesh oil smuggling, RIA Novosti reported.

He recalled that the Russian military is conducting a very successful campaign in Syria, where terrorists have suffered heavy losses, and are trying to find new routes for the smuggling of oil into Turkey.

He also recalled that Russia had spotted about 12,000 tanker trucks smuggling oil from territories held by Daesh terrorists in Syria and Iraq to Turkey.

"Here, a question of the political will of the international community arises. We understand that if all these trucks go through Turkey, it is simply obliged to close the border. But Ankara refuses to do so under far-fetched pretexts," Khashchenko said.

In this context, he called for "dealing with Turkey's actions" in light of a recently adopted resolution to cut off the channels of financing terrorism.
He also lashed out at the West over its reluctance to take any concrete steps against Turkey.

Blood Crude: Daesh Oil Smuggling Via Turkey 'Shows No Sign of Abating'
On Friday, Sergei Rudskoy, chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, presented numerous photos and videos depicting Daesh tanker trucks attempting to smuggle oil into Turkey.

According to him, in an attempt to evade Russian aircraft, the terrorists have disguised tankers as ordinary trucks and usually move their cargo at nighttime.

The Russian Armed Forces have revealed a new Daesh oil smuggling route: first the trucks take the shortest route to Iraq and from there head to Turkey. By attempting to evade Russian airstrikes, "terrorists are changing their tactics and paving new oil smuggling routes," Rudskoy said.
