MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian national team on Saturday defeated Denmark 4-3 in overtime in quarterfinals game at the 2016 IIHF World Junior Championship (players aged under 20) and advanced to semifinals of the tournament in Helsinki, Finland.
Russia scored first at the beginning of the first period, but then trailed Denmark throughout the game until tying the score at 3-3 40 seconds before the end of the regulation time.
Vladislav Kamenev scored the game winning goal on the 5th minute of overtime.
Russia will face the winner of USA-Czech Republic quarterfinal game, which will be held later on Saturday.
