MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Beijing accused more than 29,000 of country's officials of the violations during the campaign for austerity and party discipline in 2015, Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) of the Communist Party of China said in a report.
"As of November 30, [2015,] the country investigated and dealt with… 29,011 violations of party and government discipline," CCDI said in a report Sunday.
The report added that the number of violations decreased from some 71,000 in 2014, however the number of high-ranking officials among them increased in comparison with the previous year.
After assuming office in 2012, ChinesePresident Xi Jinping launched a large-scale campaign against corruption, targeting primarily high-level officials in the CPC, the armed forces and state-run enterprises.
