Republicans Support Trump as Winner of US Presidential Nomination - Poll

A majority of likely Republican voters say they support presidential candidate Donald Trump and think he will win the Republican nomination for US president in 2016, according to a NBC News/SurveyMonkey poll released on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Some 35 percent of registered voters said they would support Trump if the 2016 Republican presidential primary or caucus were to take place today, the poll revealed.

Senator Ted Cruz follows the voters’ preference with 18 percent of likely voter support, while Senator Marco Rubio holds the third place with 13 percent.

Donald Trump Confirms Plans to Repeal Obamacare If Elected President
Almost half, or 49 percent, of the likely Republican voter respondents say they believe Trump would ultimately win the Republican presidential nomination for US president.

Altogether, some 78 percent of respondents say there is a "large chance" or claim are "absolutely certain" they would vote for the candidate they supported in the Republican primary.

According to NBC, Trump also has wide support from some 33 percent of white evangelical voters and 35 percent of voters who describe themselves as very conservative.
