TOKYO (Sputnik) – The City vessel has half sunk after hitting a breakwater structure off the coast of Yamagata prefecture, the NHK broadcaster said.
The 18-member crew was en route from the Russian port of Nakhodka to South Korea.
None of the crew members were injured in the incident, the channel added, citing the prefecture’s fire-fighting department.
On Saturday, the Sakata port, where the ship has been stranded, declared a storm warning.
