Europe has been on heightened security alert following the November terrorist attacks in Paris. Denmark was one of several European countries that stepped up security in November, after at least 130 people were killed and over 350 were injured in suicide bombings and shootings at several locations in the French capital.
The Islamic State (Daesh) group, also known as Daesh, claimed responsibility for the Paris attacks. The group, banned in a range of countries including Russia, is known for its successful online propaganda and social media recruitment tactics, which primarily target young people from around the world.
