CAIRO (Sputnik) – A delegation of Russian experts started to check the newly established security measures at the airport in Cairo on Tuesday, a source in the Ministry of Civil Aviation of Egypt said.
The delegation arrived in Egypt on Monday. The source told RIA Novosti that the commission comprised four Russian experts will work in Cairo for several days.
"If the test results are positive, a new stage will be launched — the issue of resuming air travel [between Russia and Egypt] will be under consideration," the source explained.
Russia imposed ban on flights to Egypt due to security concerns following the crash of a Russian-operated Airbus A321 over Egypt's Sinai Peninsula in October, which killed all 224 people on board, after an explosive device detonated in the passenger compartment.
