BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — The Belgian national, identified as 29-year-old Zakaria J., was arrested on Wednesday. The Moroccan citizen – Mustafa E., aged 34, – was detained earlier in the day, according to the office press statement.
"Both of them were arrested due to their possible links to different suspects in the [Paris] case," the statement reads.
Both raids took place in the Brussels district of Molenbeek, a neighborhood with a large migrant population, where several other people, suspected of involvement in the deadly Paris attacks, were detained last year.
A string of attacks in the French capital on November 13 killed 130 people and injured over 350 others. Responsibility for the attacks was claimed by Daesh terrorist group, which is outlawed in many countries, including Russia and the United States.
