The United States should have sought approval from Afghan military and authorities prior to permitting its troops to target Daesh terrorists in the country, an Afghan lawmaker told Sputnik Dari.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier this week, media reports emerged claiming that the White House had authorized US military personnel to target Daesh terrorist group in Afghanistan.

"All such initiatives, according to the instructions, have to first be coordinated by the US side with the representatives of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and then, based on the agreements reached, have to be approved by the government," Nazifa Zaki said.

Who Will Pentagon Target in US Anti-Terror Operation in Afghanistan?
Zaki stressed that regional security depended on security in Afghanistan.

"But it has to done with consensus. [US President Barack] Obama’s initiative is likely to find support in Afghanistan," the lawmaker said.

Afghanistan is experiencing political, social and security instability, as the Taliban movement and other radical extremist organizations such as Daesh continue staging attacks against civilian and state targets.
