“The conflict in Syria, which has been going for quite some time now, must end… The echo of this tragedy with its terrible human toll, poverty and migration is being heard everywhere now. That’s why we need to bring this to an end as soon as possible and the upcoming talks in Geneva offer us a chance that must be used to end this war,” Ali Haydar Önder said.
“We expect all the interested countries, influential forces and conflicting sides to act in a way that would be conducive to the earliest possible resolution of the conflct. If this does not happen then World War Three could be inevitable,” Ali Haydar Önder warned.
Reason must prevail in Geneva and the participating parties must demonstrate maximum restraint and goodwill to give peace a chance.
“The participants should never underestimate the opposite side because, as we know from practice, this can have tragic and irreversible consequnces,” Ali Haydar Önder said in conclusion.
