MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Six people have been killed in the town of Chesapeake in the US state of Virginia in a murder-suicide situation, local media reported Thursday, citing Chesapeake Police.
According to the police, cited by WVEC television channel, officers found a dead body carrying out welfare check on an individual in a block situated on Wildwood Road at 3:35 p.m. local time (20:35 GMT).
Results of the investigation at the scene led the officers to a nearby home, where they discovered an armed barricaded person.
After arrival of the SWAT team and failed negotiations, the police entered the residence and found five dead bodies, the suspect among them.
