Earlier in the day, Ulyukayev held a meeting with Austrian Vice-Chancellor Reinhold Mitterlehner, who also serves as the federal minister of science, research and economy. The politicians discussed economic cooperation between Moscow and Vienna.
"We have addressed this issue [of privatization]. I spoke about the existing possibilities within this framework as well as that we will promote privatization activities, propose interesting assets and will invite Austrian business to participate in these projects," Ulyukayev told reporters after the meeting.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the new owners of the Russian assets set to be privatized must be under Russian jurisdiction, and that transferring the assets offshore would not be permitted.
