ROME (Sputnik) – Pope Francis will meet with the head of Russian Orthodox Church Kirill on February 12 in Cuba, according to a joint statement published Friday between the two churches.
The two church leaders will meet at the airport in Cuba. The main topic of their meeting will be the persecution of Christians.
The Catholic Church and Orthodox Church split in 1054 and is known as the East-West Schism, or Great Schism.
