BEIJING (Sputnik) – The decision was made by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. The new rules entered into force on February 4, and refer to those foreign citizens who do not have housing in the Chinese capital. Under the new standards, the purchase of one residential property object is allowed, the China Daily newspaper said.
Previously, foreigners with official permissions to work in China could have bought a house in Beijing if they had worked in the city for at least a year.
Moreover, the commission ordained that the residents of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, as well as other Chinese citizens living abroad could buy a residential property in the event they work, study or decide to move to live in Beijing.
