MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Airport security officials cleared a Bangkok Airways plane bound from the Thai capital to Phuket after conducting search, national media reported Sunday.
An emergency response was triggered and Flight PG 924 was barred from taking off after an overheard conversation between passengers aboard the plane mentioning a bomb.
Firefighters, rescue workers and paramedics, as well as explosive ordnance disposal officers, were dispatched to follow a bomb threat protocol.
After fellow passengers reported overhearing the bomb-related conversation, the plane’s captain steered the jet with 156 passengers and eight crew members to an isolated parking area to allow for an emergency evacuation, according to the publication.
Flight tracking services report Flight PG 924’s status as unknown.
