WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — “Activities along the line of contact in Donbass have very much increased… What has been reported from fairly reliable reporting is that over the last 24 hours there were around 71 incidents along the [line of contact] — skirmishes, fire fights, sniper activities, artillery activity etc.,” Breedlove stated on Tuesday.
He noted that in the past week there have been more than 450 incidents along the line of contact.
The Minsk peace agreement signed in February 2015 called for a halt in hostilities, the withdrawal of all heavy weaponry from the line of contact creating an 18-mile buffer zone, as well as constitutional reforms.
