MOSCOW (Sputnik) – According to the Mosaique FM radio station, the clashes began earlier in the day when militants tried to attack the army and the National Guard in the city center.
The radicals reportedly managed to hijack ambulance from the nearest hospital and escape. The local authorities advised residents not to leave their homes.
Later in the day, the Tunisian Interior Ministry said that the situation was taken under control, several terrorists were killed in the clashes. Their affiliation to any terrorist organization is not specified.
