MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A man who attacked a school in the western Swedish town of in October, had been preparing his attack for almost two weeks, local media reported Tuesday, citing police sources.
On October 22, Anton Lundin Pettersson, wearing a mask and armed with a sword, killed three people at the Kronan school in Trollhaettan before being shot by police. The attacker soon died at a hospital.
Pettersson planned the attack for at least two weeks, collecting information about the school and preparing a farewell letter, Goeteborgs-Posten newspaper reported, citing a recent police report.
The newspaper added that Pettersson had selected the school on the basis of a significant number of immigrants among its pupils.
Soon after the sword attack, police said that racist motives were behind the act of violence.
