MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The death toll in Sunday Cote D'Ivoire beach resort terrorist attack rose to 18 people, including 15 civilians and 3 security officers, the country's Interior Minister Hamed Bakayoko said Monday.
Over 30 people were injured in the attack. Three terrorists were killed by the security services, Bakayoko said.
Earlier reports suggested that 22 people had been killed, including two security officers and six gunmen.
On Sunday afternoon, a group of shooters armed with grenades and assault rifles targeted three hotels at Grand-Bassam, close to the city of Abidjan in Cote D'Ivoire. Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb terrorist group took responsibility for the attack.
