Dead bodies were tested in the N'Zerekore prefecture to the southeast of capital city Conakry, revealing positive results for the virus. According to health authorities, necessary measures are being taken to control the spread.

A spokesman for the national coordination for the fight against Ebola, Ibrahima Sylla, said Thursday that there are three other probable cases.

The World Health Organization has also confirmed the reports.

The most recent Ebola outbreak started in December 2013, spreading across Western Africa from Guinea to Liberia and Sierra Leone, killing over 11,000 people in these three countries. Guinea was declared free from Ebola on December 29, 2015.
