GENEVA (Sputnik) – There is a strong scientific consensus that Zika virus is a cause of a number of severe neurological disorders, including the Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and microcephaly, the World Health Organization (WHO) said Thursday.
"Based on observational, cohort and case-control studies there is strong scientific consensus that Zika virus is a cause of GBS, microcephaly and other neurological disorders," the WHO said in a situation report posted on its website.
