Experts are working on the social media platform Neurochat, which would allow people to use it without hands, said Natalia Galkina, the general director of the program, and Alexander Kaplan, the head of Moscow State University's lab of neurophysiology and neurocomputer interfaces, according to RT.
MSU's Kaplan added that when using the new platform people would be able to type texts using the power of their brains, without having to move or speak. The platform would have a special device that would convert brain impulses into specific commands.
"We already developed a technology with which one can type text on a computer screen without using voice or movement. Now we want to go further… A patient would be able to write a message on the computer screen to a doctor or a family member," Kaplan explained.
Kaplan also said that the new technology would allow people with disabilities to connect with each other and share their thoughts with each other which might allow them to better cope with their condition.
