CAIRO (Sputnik) – The Egyptian civil aviation minister heard a detailed report on each airport’s actual procedures, and an action plan to modernize the security system at Egyptian airports and staff training.
"During the meeting, the minister praised security measures applied at Egyptian airports on all flights," Fathy said in a statement.
Russia, the United Kingdom and other countries imposed a ban on flights to and from Egypt after an Airbus A321 crashed en route from the resort of Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg on October 31, killing all 224 people on board. Russia’s Federal Security Service said a terrorist attack had caused the tragedy.
A spokesman for the Egyptian ministry has said a Russian delegation was to carry out its final inspection of the country’s airports in April.
