MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Kuwait and the Italian industrial group Finmeccanica signed a contract for purchase of 28 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, the company said in a statement.
According to the statement, the deal was signed Tuesday.
The aircraft will be constructed in Italy, after Kuwait and Italy signed a corresponding intergovernmental agreement last year.
CEO and General Manager of Finmeccanica Mauro Moretti called the deal the company’s "largest ever commercial achievement," as quoted by the statement.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is a multirole fighter aircraft jointly produced by three companies based in four countries: the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and Italy.
