BAKU (Sputnik) — Russia and Azerbaijan are working on several energy and transport ventures, as well as plan on investing in Iran-related projects, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Friday.
"[Moscow and Baku] have also external projects. Specifically, for example, Iranian direction is now quite promising. The presidents talked about this, we have just discussed this topic. I think that this direction may be one of the most important for the cooperation in the Caspian," Medvedev said after his talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The Russian prime minister added that the cooperation between the two countries would be conducted not only on governmental projects, but also on business ventures in the fields of energy and transport.
The Friday talks resulted in the resumption of work of the Russia-Azerbaijani Business Council, according to Medvedev.
