BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – The European Commission plans to discuss the possibility of importing Iranian gas to the European Union during its visit to Tehran on April 16, an EU source said Wednesday.
“We see Iran as a potential participant in our strategy of energy diversification. We cannot exclude the possibility of gas imports, but this all depends on [future] events, and whether new gas fields will be developed. The talks that we’re holding with the minister will be the beginning of the process of discussing this possibility,” the source, wishing to remain anonymous, told RIA Novosti.
