MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The ceasefire in Syria should lead to the process of political settlement of the crisis in the country, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.
"We are counting on the cessation of use of armed force from both sides with whoever's support including our support, will lead to appeasement [in Syria]. It is necessary to adopt a constitution, conduct early elections and overcome the crisis through these means," Putin said during his direct line session.
