GENEVA (Sputnik) — The Cairo group of Syrian opposition has no objections to the corrections to UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura's proposals on settlement made by the Moscow group, Jihad Makdissi, the head of the Cairo group in Moscow-Cairo opposition platform at Geneva talks, told Sputnik.
"I read some of the corrections in the paper of Mr Qadri Jamil, it looks OK and reasonable and it aimed at rephrasing the 12 points in a way that suits the aspiration of Syrian people. we don't mind it, because it deals with the general principles of political solution, and our both platform [Cairo / Moscow] we agree on the main reference of this process which is UNSCR [UN Security Council resolutions] and Geneva communique," Makdissi said.
The so-called Cairo and Moscow platforms are two parts of the Moscow-Cairo Syrian opposition group at the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva, formed following meetings in the capitals of Russia and Egypt.
