MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Moscow believes that usage of terrorists as a tool to get rid of unwanted political regimes should be stopped, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday.
"The usage of terrorist groups as a tool in the struggle with opposition in a new regional balance of powers or to get rid of the regimes that someone dislikes, should be decisively stopped," Lavrov said at the opening of the fifth Moscow Conference on International Security.
Earlier in the day, the two-day MCIS started in Moscow. The agenda of the MCIS includes struggle with global terrorism, as well as security challenges in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Europe and Central Asia.
