WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump took part in The Green Line radio program of the US National Border Patrol Council on Sunday, where he confirmed he believed another attack similar to 9/11 was likely to occur in order to attract public attention to the border security issues.
"A lot of bad things will happen. There will be attacks that you wouldn't believe. There will be attacks by the people that are, right now, that are coming into our country," Trump said.
Trump has sparked controversy in the country with his comments on Muslims, women, and migration, including calls to build a wall with Mexico and temporarily ban Muslims from entering the United States.
On September 11, 2001, al-Qaeda suicide bombers hijacked four passenger planes in the United States, crashing two into New York's World Trade Center towers, another into the Pentagon and the fourth was sent in the direction of Washington D.C., presumably to attack the White House or the Capitol. All planes, except for the last one, reached their targets.
