CAIRO (Sputnik) – A French team of experts has arrived in the Egyptian capital of Cairo to assist the country’s authorities in their search for the EgyptAir plane that went missing in the Mediterranean Sea, local media reported.
On Thursday, EgyptAir flight MS804 with 66 people on board disappeared from radar screens while flying ten miles into Egyptian airspace. The EgyptAir flight originated from the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, France and was heading to Cairo, Egypt.
According to the Al-Youm al-Sabea newspaper, relatives of the passengers also came with the experts of the Bureau of Enquiry and Analysis for civil aviation safety (BEA).
Earlier in the day, BEA announced that its experts would travel to Egypt to help the Egyptian authorities look for debris and flight recorders under water.
