The Padua court had originally ordered the man to pay 300 euros, or roughly $330 US, per month as part of a divorce settlement. To his ex-wife’s dismay, the man began paying her in pizza instead of currency.
Frustrated, the woman took her ex-husband back to court, where she accused him of not paying his child support so that she could provide for their daughter.
The father argued that he began paying her with pizza because did not make enough money to be able to afford the payments, and Judge Chiara Bitozzi who heard the case decided that his argument was acceptable.
So it seems, for now, that the woman will continue to receive payment in the form of $300 pie deliveries. We hope she and her kid are hungry.
