MOSCOW (Sputnik) — To date, Belarus has received Russian gas from Gazprom Transgaz Belarus, a subsidiary of the Russian energy giant Gazprom, at $142 per 1,000 cubic meters. In early April, Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said that the Russian gas price for Belarus should be $80 per 1,000 cubic meters.
"Our contract is designed for the whole year and is calculated using a formula. There should not be any agreements, because the price is determined in accordance with the gas deliveries within the framework of a commercial contract," Novak told RIA Novosti.
Moscow has no plans to file a lawsuit against Minsk in the Stockholm Arbitration Court to settle the issues with the debt payment for the Russian gas, he added.
"This is a commercial issue of [Russia's energy giant] Gazprom," Novak said, answering a respective question.
Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Thursday that Minsk owes Gazprom $125 million for January-April deliveries, which Potupchik declined to recognize.
