"In contrast to the Veneto, where such a resolution has already been adopted, and Liguria and Lombardy, where it will be voted on in the near future, our situation is somewhat more complicated and therefore our way is longer, but I hope that I will be able to convince our colleagues from other parties to support our resolution," Borghi told RIA Novosti, adding that Tuscan people are well aware of how much damage is done by the sanctions.
The vote on the proposed resolution may be held on June 21-22, Borghi added.
The reunification of Crimea with Russia and the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine in 2014 led to disagreements between Moscow and the West. As Brussels imposed several rounds of sanctions against Russia, Moscow stroke back banning food export from the countries which supported anti-Russian policy.
