MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Euro 2016 will take place in various French cities from June 10 to July 10. The security issues are the most crucial ones following the terrorist attacks in Paris that took place on November 13, 2015.
"A sporting event has never been protected to such an extent. Hundred percent security measures have been adopted, but, of course the zero risk does not exist," Kanner told the RTL broadcaster in an interview.
According to the minister, around 77, 000 police officers and 13,000 security guards from private agencies will be monitoring security during the championship.
The hired security guards were thoroughly checked and did not pose potential threat for the civilians and guests of the country. The terrorist threat exists on the territory of France, but possible threat at Euro 2016 has not been detected, the minister stated.
