MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The international media forum is taking place in Russia's capital on June 6-7. It is hosted by the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency and is part of the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Information Bureau. Media experts from over 30 countries of the world take part in the forum.
"Journalism is becoming increasingly fractured, and outstanding individuals now are developing their own grounds beyond the mainstream TV and newspapers. Quite soon it will be a badge of honor for the very best journalists to have their own brands beyond the big media organizations and big channels and principals," Halligan stated at the New Era of Journalism: Farewell to Mainstream international media forum.
The forum has opened with the session called "The journalist in the post-mainstream age," where Russian and foreign experts are expected to analyze media market trends and to discuss the features of the so-called post-mainstream age, trying to reveal regularities of its development.
