MOSCOW (Sputnik) — He added that "events today are not just covered, they are generated, created. This is exactly what multimedia holdings are doing, including Rossiya Segodnya that has essentially become a trendsetter in the current Russian information space."
"Despite the multitude of the media market players, only large companies are able to create professional and competitive content and therefore the new media only help to spread and multiply the product, but are not the source of information themselves," Volin said at the New Era of Journalism: Farewell to Mainstream international media forum.
The international media forum is taking place in Russia's capital on June 6-7. It is hosted by the Rossiya Segodnya International Information Agency and is part of the 75th anniversary of the Soviet Information Bureau. Media experts from over 30 countries of the world take part in the forum.
